It's Just Stuff

It’s just stuff. The belongings we have in our homes are there to support our lives so we can be with the people we love, doing the things that bring us joy. The items that do not support our current stage of life are clutter. This perspective will naturally change your surroundings when you start seeing things this way. Listening to podcasts, reading books, and following accounts that inspire and provide tips can help speed up the process. However, like anything in life, practice is going to give you the best results.

Decluttering is not something that is done once. It is a habit that requires development, like a muscle. When you practice decluttering and start doing it daily or weekly, you will get better at it. It will become easier. It will even influence your decision-making and prevent clutter from coming into your home because before you purchase things, you are going to start asking yourself questions: ‘Where will it belong? Do I have SPACE for this?’

You are going to start to notice that you have more time in the evenings and on the weekends. Once you experience the true freedom a clutter free life provides, there is no looking back. Much like parenthood, you have to experience it for yourself to understand the underestimated benefits of a simpler life.

Imagine you had all the money and things you wanted. Now what? What would you do with your life? Is it possible to do these things now? If lack of time is what is preventing you from achieving life goals and dreams, consider how much your stuff is actually costing you. Because it is NOT just the price tag you paid at the store.

It’s just stuff, but it’s your LIFE.
